Five environmental parameters are sampled at a fixed interval and pushed to a hosted dashboard, giving you graphs over hours or days rather than a single instantaneous reading. Temperature, humidity and pressure come from calibrated digital sensors, so the values can be sanity-checked against a published forecast — a quick credibility test examiners like.
The sampling interval is a deliberate design decision, not a default. Weather changes slowly, so sampling every thirty seconds gives useful resolution without generating data nobody will look at. Being able to explain that trade-off is worth more than adding a sixth sensor.
Readings are buffered in memory when the network is unavailable and uploaded when it returns, so a dropout during the demonstration leaves a gap in transmission but not in the data.
The BME280 is a calibrated digital sensor and its published tolerances are in the datasheet — quote those in your report rather than claiming a figure. Comparing against a local forecast is a good cross-check to include.
The enclosure is shielded for short-term outdoor use during testing. For permanent installation it would need proper weatherproofing and a stable power source.
