A moisture probe in the pot triggers a small pump from a reservoir whenever the soil dries past the set point. It is a simpler, self-contained cousin of the full irrigation project — no networking, no dashboard, everything visible on the model itself.
That simplicity is the point for school and early diploma work. There are four things to explain: the probe, the threshold, the relay and the pump. A student can own all four completely, which makes for a confident demonstration.
The reservoir has its own level indication so the system warns before it runs dry, and a maximum run-time limit prevents the pump emptying the whole reservoir into one pot if the probe comes loose.
