How to Make a Project Presentation That Does Not Lose Marks
A slide-by-slide structure for a student project presentation, and the four slides that cost people marks every year.

The twelve-slide structure that works
- 1Title — project name, your name and enrolment, guide's name, institution, date.
- 2Problem statement — one sentence on what is wrong today. Not background, the actual problem.
- 3Objective — what your project will do about it, stated so it can be verified.
- 4Literature or existing solutions — two or three approaches and why yours differs.
- 5Block diagram — the whole system on one slide, readable from the back of the room.
- 6Hardware or architecture — the components or modules and what each is for.
- 7Working principle — how a signal or a request travels through the system.
- 8Implementation — a photograph of your actual build or a screenshot of your actual software.
- 9Results — your measurements, in a table or a graph. This is the slide that matters most.
- 10Limitations — what it does not do, stated by you before anyone asks.
- 11Future scope — two or three specific, plausible extensions.
- 12Conclusion and references.
Four slides that cost marks
A results slide with no numbers. If your project measures anything, the measurements belong here. A screenshot of the device switched on is not a result.
A block diagram that does not match the hardware on the table. Examiners check this. If you removed a module during the build, remove it from the diagram too.
A future-scope slide listing things you clearly could have done. "Add a display" invites the question of why you did not. Choose extensions that genuinely need more time or resources.
A wall of text read aloud. Anything you intend to say belongs in your notes, not on the slide.
Delivering it
- Rehearse aloud, timed. Silent reading always underestimates by half.
- Know which slide you would drop if you are told you have five minutes instead of ten.
- Have your demonstration ready to run before you start speaking, not after.
- Carry the presentation on a pen drive and in your email. Campus machines fail at the worst moments.
